Visiting Assistant Professor of Statistics
for 2008-2009

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in statistics for the 2008-2009 academic year. 

Primary responsibility will be teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in statistics.  Other activities may include research in statistics, and statistical consulting with university researchers.  The teaching load for this position is 18 semester hours (6 courses) for the academic year.  The salary for this position is $50,000 for the academic year.

Qualifications:  Minimum requirements are a doctorate degree in statistics OR all-but-dissertation completed toward a doctorate in statistics by the contract starting date (18 August 2008); and the ability to teach standard undergraduate and master’s level courses in statistics.  Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate evidence of high quality teaching.
